Melanie Jandl
Melanie is a self-taught printmaker and collage artist who prints strictly on recycled brown paper bags. She uses the creases and texture of the bags as an accent to her collaged images and compositions. Her printmaking techniques employ multiple self-made printing plates, each yielding different yet complementary effects. Her compositions are both representational and abstract, primarily drawn from the landscape and gardens around her, as well as the coastal horizons of the North Shore of Massachusetts where she lives. She often finds inspiration for her pieces in the beaches she photographs daily, or architectural details from her travels. Her work can be seen in Rockport, Massachusetts at One Dock Square and occasionally, at shows and exhibits in and around Massachusetts.
